Thesis Title
Knowledge Management Systems Success Model for Healthcare

Read article at Massey Research Online:

Healthcare professionals depend on access to high quality, up-to-date, contextualized knowledge to create optimal healthcare outcomes for their patients. They rely on information technology to create, capture, and transfer knowledge. In other words, they use information technology for knowledge management. The type of technology used to facilitate knowledge management is known as a knowledge management system (KMS). Ms Ali explored the factors that can influence the success of knowledge management systems in healthcare by examining system and organizational factors. She conducted a quantitative study and used questionnaires to gather information from doctors in Wellington and Hamilton. This study shows that both system factors (such as knowledge content quality) and organizational factors (such as leadership) contribute to the success of KMS. Ms Ali鈥檚 findings make a significant contribution to our knowledge about the implementation of successful KMS in healthcare.
