Dr Amanda Eng PGDipPH, PhD

Senior Research Officer

Centre for Public Health Research

Dr Amanda Eng is a Senior Research Officer at the Research Centre for Hauora and Health. She has considerable experience in conducting epidemiological studies in the field of occupational exposure and health and has been involved in a large number of studies examining occupational and environmental risk factors for a wide range of health outcomes. Dr Eng completed her doctoral thesis in occupational epidemiology in 2011, which was based on the first survey of occupational exposures and health effects in the New Zealand general population. From 2011 to 2013, Dr Eng was employed as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in the UK and worked on studies examining mammographic breast density as a determinant of breast cancer risk. Dr Eng is currently working on a programme of research focusing on occupational health and national meta-data, including a recently completed study examining occupational risk factors for cardiovascular disease and a study examining occupational risk factors for mental health.
